Bandana Tulachan is an illustrator from Kathmandu, Nepal. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kathmandu University Center for Art and Design. She works as a freelance illustrator and designer, crafting narratives inspired by the rich cultural and natural diversity of her homeland, as well as her personal experiences and stories.  

Bandana has published several children’s books, including Sanu and the Big Stormpublished by Fineprint Books, and Little People Big Dreams: Tenzing Norgay, written by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara and published by Quarto Press. She was selected for Goethe-Institut’s Movements and Moments project, where her contribution, Shanti: Beyond the Veil, was featured in a comics anthology, showcasing Indigenous feminist activism from the Global South.

Bandana co- founded the Virangana Comics Collective to create a collaborative space for illustrators and comic artists in Nepal.
